A Nurse's Honest Guide to Anxiety, Stress & Real Relief
Anxiety makes the very thing that could help — researching, deciding, acting — feel impossible. So I put what you actually need in one place.

"Your anxiety isn't a personality flaw or a willpower problem. It's a body running a very real alarm system that's stuck partway on — and it's not your fault it got stuck there."
Real numbers, real timelines, and the honest caveats most articles skip.
Your amygdala — the brain's alarm system — gets overactive while the part meant to calm it down underperforms. Your stress response stays switched on, and the calming chemicals you rely on run low. It isn't a personality flaw. It's a physical system stuck partway on.
THC's effect on anxiety is dose-dependent, not consistent. A low dose tends to calm. A higher dose can heighten fear and worry instead. That's basic pharmacology, and it's exactly why start low, go slow isn't a slogan here — it's the whole strategy.
Your daily dose is your steady baseline. Some days bring extra on top of it. A small, flexible top-up — one more dropper when you genuinely need it — builds real flexibility into a condition that is never the same two days in a row.
A preview of the dosing section. The full guide walks through titration, product forms, and what to change when something isn't working.
Step one
5 mg, twice daily
Increase by 10 mg every 2–3 days, typically up to about 40 mg/day. Splitting the dose across morning, midday and evening keeps reactivity steadier than one large dose.
Step two — optional
1–3 mg
Once your CBD is dialed in, add a small amount as needed or with your evening dose. Go slower than feels necessary — this is the one place where more is genuinely not better.
Access varies by state. Some states have licensed dispensaries with measured, lab-tested ratios; others require a medical card for anything beyond hemp-derived, low-THC products. Check your own state's current laws before you start.

This guide is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a physician or qualified healthcare provider. Theresa Strahan, RN is not acting as your physician. CBD and THC can interact with several medication classes, and combination GABA/5-HTP calming formulas are not recommended alongside SSRIs or MAOIs without your provider's involvement. Always consult your own provider before starting, stopping, or changing any supplement, CBD, cannabis, or medication.
Instant download. Lifetime access. Give it a genuine 3–4 weeks of consistent use before you decide — anxiety took time to build, and real relief takes a little time too.
